Better late than never! My trip last Saturday to PA was scenic and with very little traffic. Avoiding major cities has the benefit of no traffic jams. Mia did great and slept most of the way up. Rags made some improvements, even though a bike passing us on the interstate was the reason to bark at the top of his lungs and scaring me half to death.
As I moved into PA the rolling hills and cow pastures reminded me of home, of where I grew up. I even saw some black and white cows, which I love seeing. Maybe that is how I became partial to black and white dogs? I wonder....
After fighting with spotty reception and Spotify podcasts I had decided to listen to an audio book instead and have to say I missed Alexander McCall's writing and "Ma Ramotswe" so much. For you who don't know. He is a writer and has several series that I enjoy and used to listen to when my commute took hours. But my favorite by far is called "The No .1 Ladies Detective Agency" and the storyline happens to be in Botswana. I have loved all the characters in the book and it was almost as if listening to a conversation of friends. The main character is the kind of friend you want to have and the kind of person you would want to aspire to be. Yes, very bookish of me, but it doesn't matter what moves one as long as one is moved!
Arriving Easter weekend meant most everything was closed on my free day to explore, but I walked through the city and snapped a few pictures along the way. The weather was sunny and wonderful and those bridges stacked up were really pretty to look at. But since then I have been working and taking the dogs for walks through the little "Barbie-Neighborhood". All townhomes with different facades, but somehow still the same, it is a bit like a maze, but quite grateful to be able to see humans again, after a week of seeing nobody.</p>
Next week I will be with Emma! I can't tell you how excited I am!!! Hopefully the weather will be ok and wandering in the woods is planed.
