Still in Maine

Time is fleeting and so much happened, that I am uncertain where to start. Different climates have different ways to invoke emotions, Florida always felt like a fun summer day that should end with sitting at the beach and sipping wine. Even though when you live there you become unaware of it after a while.
Maine on the other hand is very different, it feels majestic and proud. The trees just crowding people in, as if to say, we were here first. And right here at the coast, there are all these little water inlets between these peninsulas that feel a bit magic to me. Like mirrors.
If you want to come here for vacation, you have to get here later in the year though, everything is still sleepy and the touristy things are opening up in another week or two. So, I get to enjoy the woods without all of the foreigners, smile. But it does mean a few attractions are not quite ready for action yet. But once they do they book up quick. I barely got my whale watching scheduled....
Which leads me to the other thing to share, after much back in forth in my brain and talking with family and friends, the decision is made, I am heading home.
It feels like the right thing to do and who knows, if I don't like it then I can always come back. For the moment I am looking forward to spending time with family and rediscovering Europe.
Emma will accompany me for the summer and then head back to College. I am grateful she will spend one more summer with me, once never knows when the kiddos grow tired of one.
In just a few days I will be done working and will try to cram in as much as I can in Maine, be a real tourist and travel inland and back to the coast to see more of this very captivating state, so look out for more pictures and travel notes.
I have been missing my friends back in Florida quite a bit, so know I have been thinking of you and hugging you from afar,.
But honestly I have been thinking about all the friends I have on this side of the ocean and how there really needs to be a "Star Trek Beamer thingy" so we can just hop over and have coffee together.
Once I settle in and have a proper address again, you will have a reason to travel to Europe. No not seeing Castles, not even for the beer, just to see me!!!
