It seems when you run inside a Hamster Wheel you forget to stop. We are almost at the End of another year and my 2nd trip to Denmark just happened a few weeks ago. My first trip was last year in November.
It started as a favor to my mom who wanted to go and a bit of an idea that wind in my face and disconnecting from everything might do me good.
And it did, we had a wonderful time last year, spending time on the beach, which was deserted.
Collecting shells, laughing about Mia running on the beach like a puppy. She had so much joy and energy, chasing a boggy boarder into the waves and being surprised by the cold water.
Rags got to run hard on his extensible lead and smell each little thing he encountered.
We spend an evening some kind of outside Whirlpool, hearing the wind in the trees and drinking wine. Having conversations and more wine. Cooking together and watching the fire in the oven, that the rental houses come with.
So as my trip to my mom was coming up it was clear we would do it again. Disconnect from the hustle and bustle of ordinary live and spend time in Denmark.
And it was good for my soul, doing a bit of Yoga each day. Allowing wind to blow my hair around and not caring that I wore my hiking boots almost everywhere.
But it was also different, earlier in the season, there were more people in the shops and much to my dismay on the beach too.
The weather was sunny and warm and quite rainy too. Which meant we spend a few more hours indoors.
The biggest change though was Mia, not feeling particularly well with an infected tooth, she did not want to go on long walks, she did not seem to care about the beach and all in all was not her usual self. So we took a much calmer approach this time. Making the best out of our time there and still letting the wind clear the mind.
