how posh that sounds! The week here went by really fast. I got to spend time with my favorite girl, well young woman. We even got to sneak in some walking around a lake in woodsy terrain. But the weather has not been cooperating to do a lot of outdoors activity. Rainy April weather, just like home, but that did not stop us from hanging out and catching up.
She is doing so well, keeping up with school work, making friends and her laid back demeanor is so nice to be around. I know, inside she battles with some anxiety, like most women do. Overall though, she is handling life, and the circumstances we are in, better than most adults. She also got vaccinated and it makes me very happy to know.
My personal journey is ongoing, I got tested for Covid, for the first time. Maine requires it for entry. Man that was unpleasant, can you not stick that swap up into my brain, please! But seriously it felt good to see the test result being negative, all this being careful has been useful after all.
I am getting excited to see the coastal towns of Maine and to spend 4 weeks without unpacking and packing my belongings, yay! But it will also be a bit bitter sweet, leaving here.
In the last couple of weeks the empty nester syndrome reality has begun sinking in and has brought some tears and melancholy. But I am trying to stay focused on the good. Emma living the best life she can and walking her own path, while I get to renew my focus on my own path. I have never been one to look into the back mirror for too long.
Oh and one more thing, if you ever watched CSI, the original one back in the day. You will understand why the greenhouse miniature in the bedroom is very creepy!! If you don't know what I am talking about, I can tell you next time we speak.
Also listened to to some podcasts this week and the one below stood out. If you like podcasts I think you would like Freakonomics Radio, they do a good job looking at topics in a interesting way. If you don't normally listen to podcasts, give this one a try and maybe we can talk about your thoughts on the topic too.
